I got this charcoal powder for my teenage daughter after she saw a Youtube video detailing how to clean your pores by mixing it with glue. As soon as the bag arrived in the mail she tore it open and grabbed a bottle of Elmer's glue, instructions be damned. Now let me point out that there are instructions on the actual bag for making a face mask with Coconut Oil and water. But no. The next thing I know she is using a paint brush to smear her gooey gloop on her face, her sister's face, and MY face. (I really wish I had thought to take pictures!) I don't remember consenting to this, but I do remember how it felt like plaster was drying and cracking on my face. Then came the joy of peeling it off. Ouch! And the results were ... dry skin. Especially for her, she had to apply lotion to her bright red face about three times a day to keep it from getting flaky. Thankfully it only lasted about 48 hours.
If you follow the instructions and mix with a bit of coconut oil and water the results are great. It can also be used to exfoliate dry skin or whiten teeth. This bag should last awhile as long as my daughter doesn't get anymore crazy ideas from Youtube.
